A little bit about the non-alter ego side of me:

geek - A person who is single-minded or accomplished in scientific or technical pursuits but is felt to be socially inept.
The additional details:
I am a Software Engineer who specializes in large scale distributed Enterprise Applications. I still keep my hands very dirty in the technical details. I am a skilled Java programmer who has authored many commercial applications, but I also program "for the fun of it" as well. I have a lot of hobby projects that I work on to keep my skills honed and to keep on top of emerging technologies. I am have a deep and wide set of technical skills that include programming C, C++, and Java; administering network switches and routers; administering and tuning Enterprise Application servers (WebLogic, Tomcat, etc), am an experienced and competent Unix, Linux, and Windows system administrator. I have had a computer with a static IP address connected to the Internet since 1997. I have a couple servers in data centers across the country that I host friends on and use for research. I do the full stack from bare metal up through the OS, application, and then out across the wire. People who know my wouldn't be surprised to see me taking breaks at work to punch down a new data block in our server closet. I ran a 4 line BBS (until that Internet thingy turned the modems silent).
